SLAVIC ADVENTURE 2010
This tour is open to 1 act of original music of all genres* from any country
[applications for this event opened from May 15th and will close September 1st with selection decided September 15th 2010]
This event is now in its second year and third tour. The event is hosted by the famous Cafe Agata club in Kharkov. This year will run from November 4th - 8th. The selected act will be provided with transport within the Ukraine, meals, full backline, press and radio promotion, accommodation and a per diem of $20 per musician per day while playing in some of Ukraine top international venues many of which are also on the main circuit for Russian bands (Russian venues are available but the individual costs of Russian visas is prohibitive and no visas are needed for visting and playing in the Ukraine). *The event is open to one act of any genre excepting heavy metal, hip hop, rap and secular music. To apply click HERE or on the Sonicbids logo top right.

As CME Artist Services director I took my own band The Convulsions over to Ukraine for this tour April 2010 and can happily report it was the experience of a lifetime. Click < for a slide show. One of many videos of our band taken during the tour (this one in Odessa at the end of the tour) can be seen HERE. See also Last year Big Walker from Sweden (who returns in September): Boogie Train, Tequila, and Mystery Train.
If you are selected by our Ukraine partners you would be playing at clubs such as Club Porter in Kiev, Agata in Kharkov, Liverpool Club in Donetsk, and the Dikiy Z in Odessa (all shown above). Ukraine is a country overflowing with enthusiasm for music and free expression having recently thrown off the yoke of its Communist ruled past. With Russian and Ukrainian both the national languages this is a country that still has tension between their pro-Russian government somewhat co-opted by Russian gas exports versus the younger generation who are lobbying hard for greater freedoms to travel and for Ukrainian statehood (don't mention the Russian Black Sea fleet lease). Yet the press is free and remarkably liberal (and irreverent - see Kiev Post as a delicious example) and the people we met could not have been more hospitable and just downright wonderful. We're going back!
As in all CMEAS events, the application fee is considered an application to our artist roster as well. Artists on our international roster get offered bookings and opportunities not listed on this site (for free), free submissions to selected events on this site, and access to band exchanges between other members on the roster.
